Time Management System for IT Professionals
No, IT professional likes to maintain a detailed timesheet. But the business needs it for multiple purposes. So how do we create a system that a business gets value from, but the users do not see it as a threat, pain or hassle to use it. Business can suffer due to non-maintain of these timesheets. Due to their non-intuitive nature, no one wants to use them. It has hard to track records of projects while using these timesheets. It is difficult to get project insights, manager to track their subordinates, update team projects. Here is how we can solve this problem.
A mobile app for managing time for IT Professionals. The mobile app is available every time and is intuitive to use as compared to desktop applications. Organizations can give access to their employees and track their timelines and projects. Organizations can customize some part of the application as per their requirement.
The app will contain the following features:
App home screen will display all the existing Projects in the form of cards with basic details. Each Project will have various stages (defined by the organisation), deadlines (for each stage and project). Projects will have the following features.
Progress: User can track the progress of the project based on the progress bar on the project tile
Tile Color: Tiles will be coloured red, yellow, green based on stage deadline
Sort: User can sort projects based on parameters like a deadline, stage, name etc.
Filter: User can filter projects based on parameters like stage, progress etc.
Search: User can also search a specific project using search bar on top.
Add project: User can add a new project and add all the details, including title, deadlines, teammates etc.
Project View: User can click on the project tile to view all details and insights.
User can click on the Calendar icon on the home screen to open the Calendar section. The calendar will have the following features.
Timeline: Section will have a calendar to pick a date and a timeline area to view all the events on that date
Mapping: Events can be mapped to a task or a project to help in tracking and gathering insights
Event colour: Events can be coloured based on whether they are linked to a project or task or independent event.
Add Event: User can add a new event and add all the details, including title, date, time etc.
Auto Sync: Events can be synced to/from the organization's calendar; the app will try to auto map events with a project/task based on the title. Also, user can do the same manually.
User can click on the Task icon on the home screen to open Tasks section. Tasks are similar to Projects and have a deadline but do not have any stage. The task will have the following features.
Progress: User can track the progress of the project based on the progress bar on task tile
Tile Color: Tiles will be coloured red, yellow, green based on task deadline
Sort: User can sort projects based on parameters like a deadline, name etc.
Filter: User can filter task based on parameters like progress etc.
Search: User can also search for a specific task using a search bar on top.
Add task: User can add a new task and add all the details, including title, deadline etc.
Task View: User can click on the task tile to view all details and insights.
A separate section in the app will also contain insights about their work and projects, including hours they spend per day, project insights etc. This will help both employees and employer to track the progress of employee in the organization.
Managers will be able to view all the details(including their projects, task and insights) of their subordinates and track them.
User will be able to add their colleagues to a project/task to share the progress and details.
